Friends of Redcar Music and Arts
Friends of Redcar Music and Arts are a group of volunteers who have been working together now for a year trying to increase the variety and number of events in the town. It has been a busy and exciting year and has included six evening concerts, a summer programme of musical entertainment at Kirkleatham Museum and street performances in our High Street. In the main the artists were local people but we were able to include two sell out concerts featuring Julie Felix.
We have been fortunate enough to receive some funding which was ring fenced for technical equipment and FORMA now owns a top quality P.A. system. However, all our evening concerts have been financed by funds raised at coffee mornings or through ticket sales. We are striving to obtain funding from a range of sources and hope that 2008 brings us some positive results.
We are looking forward to a programme of events, wider in content than during 2007, and our basing some of our planning on feedback from our membership forms/questionnaires.
Our first event will be a Jazz and Blues evening. Julie Felix will be returning in June as part of her Highway of Diamonds Tour and further events are in the planning stages. We are hoping to organise some lunch time Opera concerts and include some choir/band events.

We are always looking for ideas for concerts/events/funding and welcome any contact from our friends and members.
F.O.R.M.A. continues to work closely with Redcar and District Borough Council.
