F.O.R.M.A.
Friends of Redcar Music and Arts are now near the end of their fourth year and regularly provide musical entertainment for our town. This entertainment now mainly takes the form of matinee concerts.
Some of our best local singers and musicians visit the Literary
Institute on Lord Street to sing for the luncheon club and this
proves very popular with the diners. A forty minute set is
followed by a nutritious lunch.
We also continue to organise classical matinee concerts which
are held at the Zetland Park Methodist Church on The Crescent in
Redcar. These concerts include piano recitals, vocal selections
from opera and musicals, instrumental duos (violin with piano
and clarinet with piano) and trios (piano, violin and cello).
We are able to present high quality matinee concerts at a very
affordable price thanks to a grant from Redcar and Cleveland
Borough Council. The audiences are also invited to join us for
refreshments afterwards.
Annually we have a jazz and blues night which is very popular
and includes a pie and pea supper and a quiz.
